These are strange, unusual and sometimes caramel apples near me unsettling times. Yet there has also been reflection, incredible kindness, courage and hope.
I am hopeful we will emerge from this wiser, eventually stronger and more focused on the things that matter and willing to fight for them. Most of us have had minor or major setbacks to our plans, whether they were plans of exciting adventures or simply plans to go to work, go to school or open the doors to our businesses every day. During the two phases of lockdowns I have often thought about all the incredible people I have met through our workshops, mostly at our property in Médoc but also, more recently, through our travels in Italy. The great power of togetherness and fellowship that can be created by cooking and sharing a few meals together is unlike anything I have experienced before. Sometimes we have had two workshops, one right after the other. I feel a little sad and nervous we won’t be able to recreate the same feeling with the group arriving in a few days.
It’s the power of like minded people, looking for and finding the thing that unites them. Cooking, approaching life through food culture in a beautiful setting, the appreciation of a slow life is a powerful unifier. As we look ahead to an exciting 2021, full of promise and travel we are happy to announce our modified program for next year. Additionally we have been getting a lot of new enquires which is encouraging and fills us with optimism. Venice is an its most quiet end eerily beautiful.
We will spend our days discovering Venetian food traditions and Venice itself. We will cook many meals together, go to the markets and buy the freshest fish and vegetables, see the Venice not everybody gets to see. We’ll go home wanting to come back. 800 euros including all food and wine, transportation on site and 3 night’s accommodation. 500 euros including all food and wine.
